I believe deeply in the power of human touch—not only in its ability to move blood, lymph, and energy to bring healing to an aching body, but also in its ability to calm an anxious mind, to relax a racing heart, and to hold space for a grieving soul.
I decided to become a Licensed Massage Therapist after both noticing the profound effects this age-old bodywork had in my own life and also living through a pandemic which led to social distancing in an already increasingly-isolated society. I have loved learning about the history of massage and the cultures where its roots date back 6,000 years and is still ingrained in daily life. My hope is to help more people regain our connection to our past and to one another through touch; to make it not a luxury or reward which has to be earned or deserved. Deep rest and care for ourselves in this fashion belongs to us innately.
Some of my earliest memories involve being close to a loved one and feeling the comfort of their touch: my head propped up on my dad's belly, the weight of his hand on my back as we watched Flipper early weekday mornings; the soothing back scratches as my mom sang goodnight lullabies; the firm grip of my grandpa's handshake as he smiled and said, "Put 'er there!" I also remember when cooties became a thing and starting to notice how others would become uncomfortable from being too close to someone else. I want to help folks feel more comfortable with each other and even with their own bodies through massage therapy.

The ocean sounds. The music. The ringing bell chime at the beginning and the end. The breathe on your hands and instruction to deep breathe and let things that rise up flip away

The word at the end. Adam, you are my new masseuse.

I teared up in the beginning because I was explaining my chronic pain has been so bad and he was very understanding and listened well.

I have had a variety of massages, but I have never felt that safe and healed after one (usually I start relaxing right at the end). Adam's presence is so welcoming and warm and there's no need to put up with anything even slightly uncomfortable. I don't know how to describe the experience other than spiritual, and that you need to experience it for yourself.
